1. Standard warranty coverage
Unless the quotation or order confirmation states otherwise, eligible products may include a standard return-to-base warranty for functional defects that arise during normal intended use. The applicable period depends on the product condition and order terms. Do not assume that every new, surplus, refurbished or used item has the same warranty period.
| Product status | Warranty position |
|---|---|
| New and unused | Warranty period and scope are confirmed in the quotation or order confirmation. |
| Surplus or discontinued | Coverage may be available if stated in writing and may differ from new-product coverage. |
| Refurbished or repaired | Coverage depends on the testing, repair scope and written order terms. |
| Used equipment | Warranty, if any, is limited to the specific terms confirmed before purchase. |
2. What the warranty covers
An approved warranty claim normally covers a verified functional defect in the supplied product when the product has been installed, configured, stored and operated within the manufacturer's intended specifications.
Where technically practicable, products may be visually inspected or functionally tested before dispatch. The available inspection scope depends on the product type, age, condition and test equipment available.
3. Initial delivery problems
Contact us as soon as possible if the shipment is visibly damaged, incomplete, incorrect or appears not to match the confirmed order. Please notify us within five calendar days of delivery where possible, keep the original packaging and send clear photos of the product, label and packaging.
4. How to make a warranty claim
Contact info@strategy-control.com before returning any product. Please provide:
- Company and contact name;
- Quotation, invoice or order number;
- Manufacturer and complete part number;
- Serial number, date code or revision where available;
- Description of the fault and when it occurred;
- Installation, wiring and operating conditions;
- Clear photographs or video showing the issue; and
- Diagnostic results or error codes already recorded.
We may issue a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number or other written return authorization. Do not send a product back without written authorization and return instructions.
5. Inspection and available remedies
After an authorized return is received, we may inspect or test the product. If the claim is approved, Strategy-Control may, subject to availability and the order terms:
- Repair the affected product;
- Replace it with the same model;
- Offer a new, refurbished or equivalent product agreed in writing; or
- Refund the purchase price of the affected product if repair or replacement is not reasonably available.
A replacement is not confirmed until the model, condition and commercial terms are agreed in writing.
6. Warranty exclusions
Compatibility with the customer's installed system remains the customer's responsibility unless Strategy-Control expressly confirms compatibility in writing. A similar-looking part or product-family name is not sufficient evidence of compatibility.
7. Safety-critical and regulated applications
Parts used in SIS, ESD, fire and gas, burner management, machinery protection, hazardous-area or other safety-critical applications require review and approval by the responsible site or project engineer. The warranty does not replace commissioning, validation, certification or functional-safety requirements.
8. Manufacturer warranty
Strategy-Control is an independent supplier and is not an authorized distributor or representative of the manufacturers named on this website unless expressly stated in writing. The original manufacturer's warranty, technical support or firmware entitlement is not included unless it is expressly confirmed in the quotation or order confirmation.
9. Shipping and related costs
The customer may be required to prepay return shipping. If a defect is confirmed and covered by warranty, we may reimburse reasonable standard return shipping or provide an approved shipping method. Expedited shipping, customs duties, taxes, installation costs, removal costs, labour, downtime and consequential losses are not included unless required by applicable law or agreed in writing.
10. Customer responsibilities
- Provide accurate model, application and installation information.
- Follow manufacturer and site safety procedures.
- Keep the product, packaging, accessories and shipping documents until the claim is resolved.
- Use suitable anti-static and protective packaging for returned electronic components.
- Stop using a product if continued operation may create a safety risk or cause further damage.
